The ecotourism park Balam Ka´Ax ("Selva del Tigre") begins in 1987 by young brothers restless to experience our beautiful nature, beginning to make tours in the town of Candelaria, Campeche and ending at Tikal Guatemala, realizing the enormous potential that had their tours is when they decide to start the project, taking shape in the years 1996-1997.

The project aims to show the other side of our Mayan world in all its glory, as is its ecosystem, flora, fauna and natural environment in which Mayan people use to live.

Balam Ka´Ax ecotourism project, is located within one of the nation's largest ecotones, it begins in the "Terminos" lagoon facing the Gulf of Mexico and extends into a cone shape toward the neighboring countries of Guatemala, Belize and Honduras.
